More intelligent software is the future of white-collar work

After many false starts, #AI is being integrated into various businesses as it has been adapted for more mundane jobs. The reason for this is that the distinction between regular software and AI software has become less defined as artificial intelligence has evolved.

Some companies that have access to large amounts of user data, powerful computing resources and AI scientists as well as a willingness to share research publicly have started making great strides in fields like speech recognition and image analysis.

Artificial intelligence can help scientists solve the world's "Hard problems", like climate change, says Alphabet Inc's chairman, Eric Schmidt.

If artificial intelligence is achieved by whoever can amass the most data and computing power, then a significant part of the future economy could be managed by just a few companies.
